PRESS NEWSLETTER No. 1 – July 2008

With the Mondial de l'Automobile 2008 (2008 Paris Motor Show) set to open in a few months' time, this is the first Press Newsletter, further to the first press release in May and your accreditation form.
This Newsletter is the first of a monthly series before the opening of the show, to give you information updates and to let you in on the events you can't afford to miss! Don't hesitate to visit our website :

Communication :
“All roads lead to the Paris Motor Show.”
This year's poster, TV and radio spots for the Paris Motor Show were designed by the agency “Les Ouvriers du Paradis”.
The remit was to announce a unique show, catering to all car lovers.

New : Accreditation
Accreditation on Wednesday 1 October: journalists who haven't already been accredited beforehand can do so from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm on Wednesday 1 October (one day prior to the first Press Day), at the Paris Motor Show Press Office, at the Porte de Versailles, Paris.
Access to the show will not be possible until 7.00 am on Thursday 2 October.
Accreditations will be handled at Gate V (from 1 to 19 October) and at Gate C (1, 2 and 3 October only).
We strongly advise you to get accredited ahead of schedule in order to avoid queuing when you come to the Paris Motor Show.
You can get accredit ed now via our Web site.
Those of you who have requested accreditation will be receiving your badge by end July.
NB : please send us your request for accreditation by 27 August , after which we will no longer be processing requests.
Journalists will not be granted access to the Porte de Versailles exhibition park without due accreditation.

New : Press Conferences
Further to many requests from manufacturers, the press conferences on 2 october will start at 7.45 am in Hall 4 ; those scheduled on 3 October will start at 9.00 am in Hall 1.

Taxi Jeepney de Manille

New: Special exhibition: “Taxis from around the world”
A 5,000 sq.m exhibition area will be showcasing 40 taxis from 20 countries .
The sheer diversity and historical and cultural richness of these vehicles, used from 1912 to the present, will astound visitors to the show. Among them, you will find the 1914 Taxi de la Marne , the 1965 Austin FX4 London taxi, the 1980 Manila Jeepney and many more.
Check them out from 4 to 19 October in Hall 8 of the Paris Motor Show.

Disney attraction on Terrace D4
Disney will be making its debut at the Paris Motor Show, to present the life-size stars of the cartoon "Cars" by the Disney-Pixar studios.
This attraction will be held on Terrace D4 with total immersion in the "Cars" world: complete collection of Mattel Cars, a DVD Blu Ray Disc will be used to project the feature on a giant screen, game stations, videos and magazines to entertain young and old alike.
Disney will also be partnering the “Child minding” section located in Hall 2/2, and will be offering all the equipment for littluns. |

Motocab
Motocab, specialising in motorcycle passenger transport, will be offering its services free of charge to journalists and exhibitors, and for a fee to visitors to the Paris Motor Show. Motocab will be available for departures from the show to Paris intra-muros .
Transfers to Charles de Gaulle or Orly airport will be possible, subject to availability, only for those with a press or exhibitor badge. |

As from 2 October 2008, there will be daily shuttles between Orly Ouest airport and the Paris Motor Show. The shuttles will be free for journalists on 2 and 3 October 2008.
